Fairfield Inn & Suites Mankato

Watch out for room 307, there is a fan in the bathroom ceiling that is extremely loud and can be heard 24 Hrs a day. Your only reprise from the noise is to close the bathroom door which removes most of the noise but not all. I was able to sleep but more sound sensitive might have an issue. I mentioned it at check out and was told that there is nothing the hotel can do about the noise. I strongly suggested that they not book that room, but since they know about it and booked me in it’s obvious that it will be booked. Stay away from this room and all should be good. Staff is friendly and property and room are very clean. I would recommend this hotel anytime just not this room.

Checked in early only to find our room smelled like urine and had dirty sheets/pillowcases on both beds. The front desk graciously got a new room and said they would comp our stay. The next day, my card was charged. I contacted the front desk about the charge and was told since we stayed in the clean room, they cannot comp the room. Morale of the story, if we would have stayed in the dirty room, it would have been free or if we would have left they would not have charged us. Lucky for them we will not be back!

This hotel is nice. I enjoyed my room and thought everything was great. There is a pool which was nice but unfortunately there was no hot tub. The hotel is near the center of town and is close to several restaurants and shopping centers. I recommend staying here.

Not a pet friendly hotel, even if you have a an ID for support dog they only recognize Service animals but other than that the staff is very friendly and helpful. Sean was very nice and professional and Anna was also. We were going to be staying a week or longer but was asked after 2 night stay at 9:30am by Adam to be out by Noon. We had no complaints at all with 2.5lb Yorkie “Zoey” it’s just not a pet friendly hotel. I have stayed in about 30 alone this year and never had this problem but I left and had room inspection myself by management before I checked out said room was one of the most cleanest rooms they have ever inspected. Charged my card after the employee issued a refund. Poor training that they set on the customer. Marriott issued a ticket that was never responded to and left unresolved. Very sad as another Fairfield was able to work with me.

We will not be staying at this hotel again. There are plenty of other options in Mankato. We booked two rooms and stayed for two nights in early July and since the rooms were almost $200 per night, it cost us close to $800. There were several youth baseball teams staying there for some tournament, plus the adult "chaperones" The kids were not as much of a problem as the adults. So called adults sat out in the parking lot below our window until 1:00am drinking beer and playing music. Front desk clerk said it wasn't her problem, even though the sign at the front desk specifically told the sports teams that there was a 10:00pm curfew for the kids. (they have obviously had this problem before) Went out to speak to the adults and the music volume went down somewhat, but still a problem. Adam Hutzenbuhler, the manager was not around. After we wrote an email complaint asking for a refund or discount, the manager blew us off. Said that "parents are in charge of their children." But who's in charge of the adults? We wrote a letter to the Marriott corporation, but have had no response. (crickets) If you want peace and quiet, go somewhere else.

We selected this hotel because of its location and it had a pool. The location was great but as tends to happen the pool was not. Small, dirty, etc. We had 2 rooms and neither were very clean. I'm pretty forgiving but basics like hair and garbage need to be removed from the bathroom and room and at least a quick dusting of things like the lamp bases. The bedding also was not as clean or nice as I'd expect for $200/night all in. You can also hear A LOT of noise from the rooms and hallways. We had a screaming child the 2nd night for hours and I might as well have offered to take a shift for the parents because there was no way to block out the noise even with ear plugs. I will say for hotel breakfasts this one was decent. All in all this hotel is simply not worth that much per night especially for that area. Was it terrible? No. Would I stay again? No.
